"Bitácora de un bibliotecario" was launched on December 2, 2004 as one of the first Latin American/Spanish-speaking blogs on libraries and librarians. In its posts, the author –then just graduated from LIS School, with a few years of working experience and just starting to discover an awesome and conflictive academic world– wrote on his worries and discoveries, his hopes and disappointments, his struggles. Between 2005 and 2008 he kept a parallel English version, "The log of a librarian" and in 2007 Sara Plaza started co-authoring the blog. From 2009 onwards, posts were not frequent, and in 2014 the author decided to close the old "Bitácora..." and, with it, a period of his personal and professional life.
With the perspective given by the years and the trodden paths, and all what was learnt and saved in the backpack, the author opens in 2015 this new weblog, "Bibliotecario", in Spanish only -- a heir of the previous one which will continue many of its works, many of its ideas and all of its values.
